Stuart Wilson, head of equity syndicate at Citic CLSA, left the investment bank earlier this week, according to a source familiar with the situation.

A spokesperson for Citic CLSA confirmed Wilson's departure but declined to offer further details.

Long-serving Wilson has been with CLSA since 2004. The veteran New Zealand banker has been an integral part of CLSA's equity platform at the time of CLSA's sale to China's Citic Securities in 2012.

The company has since merged CLSA's investment banking division with that of Citic Securities in Hong Kong to create Citic CLSA.

During his tenure with CLSA, Wilson's main duty was the execution of equity transactions in Southeast Asia and India, while he was also mandated to oversee Greater China operations. He was based in Hong Kong for most of his time with CLSA.

Before joining CLSA, Wilson worked at National Australia Bank for three years and was based in Sydney.

He has a master of management studies from University of Waikato in New Zealand.

FinanceAsia was unable to ascertain his next move by press time.
