Equity Capital Markets
A total of $8.2 billion has been raised in the Asian equity capital market this week through 25 deals, down on the $13 billion raised in last week.
Follow-ons accounted for the majority of the issuance this week with $8.1 billion via 22 deals, compared to $11.6 billion through 32 such transactions last week.
The largest deal of the week is Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union’s $4.9 billion cash placing though joint bookrunners Guotai Junan Securities and Deutsche Bank.
Goldman Sachs continues to lead the league table ranking in 2015 YTD with $10.8 billion while UBS and CITIC Securities follow with $9.2 billion and $6.0 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Markets
Ten issuers tapped the Asian G3 debt capital markets for a total of $5.3 billion so far this week, slightly up from the $5.2 billion raised last week.
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) issued a $1 billion USD-denominated Sukuk through Hong Kong Sukuk 2015 Ltd and the bookrunners were Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, National Bank of Abu Dhabi PJSC and CIMB Group. This the largest deal of the week and also the largest Hong Kong Islamic bond on record, on par with Hong Kong government’s $1.0 billion issuance in September 2014 via Hong Kong Sukuk 2014.
HSBC maintains its lead in the league table rankings with $11.5 billion in 2015 YTD while Citi follows with $10.4 billion. Deutsche Bank rounds off the top three with $7 billion.
