Equity Capital Markets
A total of $6.1 billion has been raised in the Asian equity capital market this week through 39 deals, up slightly on the $5.5 billion raised in the same period last year.
The largest deal of the week is China Taiping Insurance Holdings’ $1.8 billion follow-on through bookrunners HSBC, Citi and China Construction Bank Corp. The deal is also the sixth largest Asia ex Japan ECM transaction so far this year.
Another notable deal to complete this week is Tata Motor’s $1.2 billion rights offer through bookrunners Citi, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, HSBC and JP Morgan. The deal is the second biggest rights issue from an Indian issuer on record.
India ECM volume has reached $12.0 billion so far this year, almost quadruple the $3.1 billion raised in the same period last year and the highest YTD total since 2010 ($15.1 billion)
Goldman Sachs continues to lead the league table ranking in 2015 YTD with $8.8 billion while UBS and CITIC Securities follow with $6.2 billion and $4.8 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Markets
Seven issuers tapped the Asian G3 debt capital markets for a total of $4.4 billion so far this week, down slightly from the $6.8 billion raised in the same period last week.
China Construction Bank’s $2.0 billion trade is the largest deal of the week and the bookrunners were Standard Chartered Bank, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, ANZ, China Constructions Bank Corp, Credit Suisse and Citi.
Chinese issuers have tapped the G3 bond markets for a total of $42.9 billion so far this year, up 16% year-on-year and the highest YTD total on record.
HSBC maintains its lead in the league table rankings with $10.1 billion while Citi follows with $8.6 billion. JPMorgan rounds off the top three with $6.1 billion.
