BNP Paribas has hired Vijay Jote as its new head of ratings advisory for Asia-Pacific, within debt capital markets, according to a source familiar with the matter. Jote was previously a credit strategist for Citi private bank and worked at the bank for four years. His last day was on Friday.
Jote is expected to join BNP Paribas in October where he will be dealing with companies seeking ratings and he will also support new bond issues in the ratings process.
BNP has been hiring externally for its debt team during the past couple of months. In July, it hired two high-yield bankers from Standard Chartered, including Yung Tan, who joined the bank as a managing director and head of North Asia high-yield capital markets.
BNP Paribas and Citi declined to comment.
