Nomura has been busy recruiting former BofA Merrill staff to key positions this year.

Nomura has appointed Mei-Yu Shih as head of equity sales and trading for Taiwan, the latest recruit brought to the Japanese bank from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Shih, who will be based in Taipei, worked at the US bank for 12 years, most recently as head of Taiwan equity sales, a position she held since 2008.
