Two more directors for HSBC

HSBC appoints Charles de Croisset as executive and John Kemp-Welch as non-executive director.

HSBC Holdings plc has appointed Charles de Croisset as an executive director and John Kemp-Welch as a non-executive director.

The appointment of de Croisset follows the acquisition of Credit Commercial de France (CCF). He has been with CCF since 1980, most recently as chairman and CEO. Before that, de Croisset was an inspector of finance at the French finance ministry; an assistant to the economic adviser to the French president; and the chief of staff and assistant to the minister of Industry and Energy.

Kemp-Welch is the former chairman of the London Stock Exchange, serving from 1994 to May 2000. He first began his career at Cazenove & Co in 1959, and from 1980-94 he was a joint senior partner. Kemp-Welch was knighted in 1999 for his services to financial regulation and to financial services.
